Aletheia House Hosts Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate $6 Million Renovation of Amberwood Apartments
CenterPoint, AL – On Friday, July 11, Aletheia House, along with the Mayor and City Council of CenterPoint and development partners, celebrated the opening of the newly renovated Amberwood Apartments. The ceremony took place at the clubhouse at Amberwood Apartments.
The $6 million dollar renovation of Amberwood Apartments is a multi-family housing tax credit partnership with the Alabama Housing Finance Authority. The project brings 104 units of high-quality affordable housing for individuals and families with moderate incomes to the area. This is a transformative project that will serve as an economic revitalization tool for the community.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to take a distressed property that was a blight on the community and turn it into high-quality, affordable housing. This wouldn’t have happened without the strong support of the City of Center Point, several state agencies, and our private sector partners,” said Aletheia House Executive Director Chris Retan.
Special thanks is given to the project partners – Development Services, Inc, Alabama Housing Finance Authority, ADECA, Bank Independent, Raymond James Tax Credit Funds, Doug Hollyhand Realty, Architectural Office of William J. Peek, Sellers, Richardson, Holman & West, Hollyhand Companies, Bradley, Arant, Boult & Cummings, Hazclean Environmental, Pugh, Wright, McAnally and the City of Center Point.
Amenities for the complex include a new clubhouse and fitness center. The property will be managed by Hollyhand Companies. Individuals interested in leasing a unit should contact the leasing agent at (205) 578-2122.
