Aletheia House is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse. The county serviced will be Jefferson County.
Location of Position: Birmingham, AL
Position Summary:
The case manager will provide housing case management to Jefferson County Housing Authority’s Shelter Plus Care Program clients and Aletheia House permanent housing applicants and tenants. The case manager works closely with the housing coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Help clients and participants obtain appropriate mainstream resources including, but not limited to food stamps, employment, medical and dental services
-Conduct home visits
-Ensure housing stabilization, maximum levels of self-sufficiency, and overall better quality of life by maintaining frequent contact with program participants
-Provide case management by the development of plans that address and identify issues in the areas of housing, employment, and other life functions
-Maintain client files
-Serve as an advocate for clients and participants with other service providers
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the housing coordinator
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Excellent writing, communication, organizational and time management skills with knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation
-Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients, participants and resource providers
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health or social services required
-Experience providing supportive services a plus
Travel Requirements:
-Daily travel is required
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Must have a current Driver’s License and good driving record
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
-Motor Vehicle Report required
Job Salary:
$36,000.00 – $45,000.00/Annually
Hours:
F/T Exempt – Monday-Friday – 8:00 am – 4:00 pm – Total Hours – 40
