Aletheia House is looking for individuals that want to make a difference in the lives of individuals
recovering from substance abuse. Area/County Served: Jefferson County and surrounding
areas.
Location of Position: Birmingham, Alabama
Office Location: 2631 Ensley Avenue West (Five Points West), Birmingham, AL 35218
Position Summary:
The veteran’s case manager will provide supportive services to adult men who have substance
use disorders and who are homeless or at-risk veterans in the Jobs for Veterans Program. The
case manager works closely with the veteran’s program manager to accomplish the mission and
service goals of Aletheia House.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Help to link and transport clients who are participants in the Jobs for Veterans program to
medical appointments, social service appointments, grocery shopping, etc.
-Help clients apply for supportive services such as food stamps, rental assistance, utility
assistance, etc.
-Teach basic living skills classes
-Help clients transition to transitional housing, recovery housing and/or permanent housing
-Document the services provided in the prescribed manner
-Submit documentation, including billing documentation, in a timely and accurate manner
-Perform similar other duties assigned by the treatment coordinator
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in behavioral health, social services or relevant lived experience required
-Experience providing supportive services a plus
-Must be able to become certified as a case manager
-Must have a current Driver’s License and a good driving record
-Motor Vehicle Report required
Travel:
-Travel may be required daily or on occasional basis
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
– -Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
-When needed, will drive the agency’s van
Job Salary:
$34,000 to $40,000 (depending on education, experience, and certification).
Hours:
F/T Exempt – Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Total Hours – 40

certified as Addiction Professionals.
