Aletheia House is looking for a Child Development Specialist for the Huntsville, AL area.
The Child Development Specialist is responsible for providing childcare services and childcare development with all dependent children to the women who are receiving treatment for substance abuse disorders. The Child Development Specialist works closely with the Treatment Services Coordinator.
Office Location of Position:
Women’s Hope North, Huntsville, AL
-Provide evidenced-based childcare services to the dependent children of women who are in treatment for a substance abuse disorder.
-Attend to children by providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to children. This may include, but not limited to feeding, dressing and overseeing play.
-Report observed or unusual behavior of the children to their mother and the clinical staff.
-Maintain a log of all childcare services.
-Solve routine problems related to the children who are in care.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Treatment Services Coordinator, Director of Behavioral Health, Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director.
-High school diploma required. Bachelors of Science degree in education or social work preferred.
-Work experience and undergraduate coursework in early childhood education and certification preferred.
-Eligible to be certified as a Medicaid provider.
$12.00 – $15.00 per hour
Part-time /Non-Exempt – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8:45 am – 2:45 pm; Tuesday and Friday 10:45 am – 1:45 pm
