Aletheia House is looking for a childcare specialist/transporter for the Huntsville, AL area.  The area serviced will be Madison County.


Position Summary:
The childcare specialist/transporter is responsible for providing childcare services and childcare development with all dependent children to the women who are receiving treatment for substance abuse disorders.  The childcare specialist/transporter is responsible for transporting clients to and from services.  The childcare specialist/transporter works closely with the Treatment Coordinator-North.

Office Location of Position: Women’s Hope North, Huntsville, AL

Primary Responsibilities:

-Provide evidenced-based childcare services to the dependent children of women who are in treatment for a substance abuse disorder.

-Attend to children by providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to children.  This may include, but not limited to feeding, dressing and overseeing play.

-Report observed or unusual behavior of the children to their mother and the clinical staff.

-Maintain a log of all childcare services.

-Solve routine problems related to the children who are in care.

-Perform other duties as assigned by the Treatment Coordinator-North, Director of Behavioral Health, Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director.


-High school diploma required.  Bachelors of Science degree in education or social work preferred.

-Work experience and undergraduate coursework in early childhood education and certification preferred.

-Eligible to be certified as a Medicaid provider.


Travel Requirements:

-Quarterly meetings and trainings.

-Transport clients to and from group.

-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation.

-Must have a current Driver’s License and good driving record.

-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included.


Job Salary: 

$28,090.80 Annually



Full-time /Exempt – Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm – 40 Hours
