Aletheia House has an opening for a child care worker in our Mother’s Hope program. Area Served: Jefferson County.
Office Location of Position: 4246 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35204
Position Summary:
The childcare worker is responsible for providing childcare services and childcare development with all dependent children to the women who are receiving treatment for substance abuse disorders.
Primary Responsibilities:
-To provide evidenced-based childcare services to the dependent children of women who are in treatment for a substance abuse disorder.
-Attend to children by providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to children. This may include, but not limited to feeding, dressing and overseeing play.
-To report observed or unusual behavior of the children to their mother and the clinical staff.
-To maintain a log of all childcare services.
-Solve routine problems related to the children who are in care.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator.
Qualifications:
-High school diploma required. Bachelors of Science degree in education or social work preferred
-Work experience and undergraduate coursework in early childhood education and certification preferred
Job Salary:
$15.00 to 18.75/Hourly
Hours:
Part-time, Non-Exempt
Monday- Friday 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
