Aletheia House is searching for a cook to work at our Mother’s Hope facility. The cook is responsible for preparing meals and ensuring that the dining area and kitchen are up to food and safety standards. The cook works closely with the treatment coordinator to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House. Area served is Jefferson County.
Location of Position: Mother’s Hope – Birmingham, AL
-Prepare the meals and snacks that are on the menu for women and children living in a residential treatment program.
-Ensure that all areas of the kitchen, dining area, pantry, cooking utensils, etc. are clean, neat, organized, and stocked.
-Report any program participant issues or program issues to proper personnel
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator
-Food Handlers permit preferred but not necessary
-Minimum of five years experience preferred but not required
-Must be able to speak, read, and understand basic cooking procedures
-Understanding the knowledge of safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures
$15.00 – $18.75 per hour
Part-time, non-exempt, Friday 6:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
