The Aletheia House is looking for a caring, energetic, qualified health screener to work in our
Bessemer Health Clinic on a part-time basis. Area serviced is Jefferson County, AL.
Position Summary:
The health screener will perform initial screening/assessment of staff, patients and guests in an
effort to prevent infection exposure and provide safeguards upon entry to the facility. The health
screener works closely with the health services coordinator and chief operating officer.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Receive, screen and route individuals entering the facility
Provide hand sanitizers and mask/face covering
-Screen individuals’ temperature using various tools which may include temporal infrared
thermometers or infrared cameras
-Clean and sanitize workstation and supplies
-Identify and report issues of safety and maintenance
-May conduct additional health testing or screening as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Physician health services coordinator, Director of
Behavioral Health, Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Forehead thermometer
-Personal protective equipment (mask)
-Excellent customer service skills, problem-solving skills to determine appropriate course of
action in situations, ability to handle difficult situations/interactions in a professional manner,
with strong communication skills
-Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
– Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
-Health screener will be offered a COVID vaccine and may be required to submit to COVID
testing
Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of outpatient clinic experience
preferred
-Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of
Medical Assistants (AAMA) – preferred.
-Current Basic Life Support Certification required.
Job Salary:
$13.00 per hour
Hours: P/T, Non-Exempt, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am – 3:00 p.m. or 10:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Total hours: 28 per week
