Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide behavioral health services to
individuals who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid
use disorder and who want to make a difference in Prevention Services. The area
served is Jefferson County.
Position Summary:
The lead navigator specialist is responsible for providing HIV/Hepatitis screenings and
substance abuse education to at-risk racial/ethnic minorities ages 18-24. The lead
navigator specialist works closely with the HIV services coordinator to accomplish the
mission and service goals of Aletheia House.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide quality prevention services, outreach, and recruitment to participants in
substance abuse and HIV prevention programs in accordance with the policies
established by Aletheia House
-Provide HIV testing (contactless/drop off)
-Link eligible individuals to primary health care
-Provide virtual HIV education and POL classes
-Provide social media recruitment
-Create a social media campaign
-Provide training for Peer Leaders
-Provide Hepatitis screenings
-Provide outreach and recruitment
-Facilitate classes and report outcomes and data to the HIV services coordinator.
– Provide substance abuse prevention services
-Complete GPRA and report outcomes and data to the HIV Services Coordinator
-Document services provided in a complete, accurate and timely manner
-Report all unusual incidents that may involve participants to the HIV services
coordinator
-Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
-Perform other duties as instructed by the HIV services coordinator, chief operating
officer, and/or executive director
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree related to social services preferred. Knowledge of implementing HIV
interventions is a plus
-Prior experience in HIV education/prevention a plus
-Ability to provide services in a compassionate, ethical manner
-Valid Alabama driver’s license and good driving record required
-Ability to keep sensitive information obtained confidential
-Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
-Exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients, participants, and resource
providers.
Travel Requirements:
-Travel required
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
Job Salary:
$36,000.00/annual
Hours: Full-time, Exempt
Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
(Flexible hours and evenings/weekends)
(40 hours per week)
