NURSE PRACTIONER/CLINICAL DIRECTOR (#0449)

The Aletheia House is looking for a Nurse Practitioner/Clinical Director. The area/counties
served are Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

Position Summary:
The nurse practitioner (NP)/clinical director will work for the Aletheia House – Bessemer
Neighborhood Health Clinic seeing patients in-person and via telemedicine. The patient
population will be adults with chronic, acute and/or complex medical conditions, especially those
who are experiencing homelessness. The NP/CD will be required to work independently in the
clinic setting – seeing patients and billing independently. The workload will consist of
evaluating/examination of patients, implementing treatment plans, and follow up of plans and
education. The NP/CD will develop and implement programs best suited for special populations
and be responsible for tracking of outcomes. The ideal candidate has experience either as an
NP in a Federally Qualified Health Clinic or outpatient clinic setting. The following NPs may be
considered for this role: Family NP, Adult Primary NP

Location of position: 2201 Arlington Avenue, Bessemer, AL 35020

Primary Responsibilities:
-To provide medical care and treatment within established scope of practice to medical services
patients as assigned by and under the direction of the collaborating physician (Section 610-X-5
of the Alabama Board of Nursing Administrative Code) or under supervision of a Board Certified
Physician (Section 540-X-7 of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners Administrative Code).
-To provide leadership in Health Center’s initiatives of best patient outcomes and practice
efficiency and effectiveness; this includes but is not limited to: developing programs for
improved patient treatment plans, conducting staff meetings, helping prepare and participate in
grant audits, and working closely with the Health Center’s Director on any Health Center
objectives.
-To coordinate plan of care, discharge and specialty referrals as appropriate to meet the age
specific needs of the patient.
-To plan and coordinate health care education for patient, family and other health care providers
as needed.
-To perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments
-To interpret, analyze and evaluate patient’s medical record and social data

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
-Master’s degree in Nursing with a Family NP or Adult Primary NP certification required
-Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement
-Candidate must have at least two years of full-time experience as a NP
Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
-Currently certified as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
-Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the
American Heart Association. (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of
employment.

Job Salary:
$90,000.00 to $120,000.00
Hours:
Full-Time Exempt – Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with limited call – 40 hours
(No weekends or holidays)
