Aletheia House is seeking a community health worker to provide substance abuse education and HIV education to minorities ages 13 years and older in Jefferson County in accordance with Aletheia House and the Center for Substance Abuse prevention.
Position Summary:
The community health worker is responsible for assisting with HIV education and screenings to at-risk racial/ethnic minorities ages 13 years and older. The community health worker works closely with the treatment coordinator to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide quality prevention services, outreach, and recruitment to participants in HIV prevention programs in accordance with the policies established by Aletheia House
-Provide HIV testing (contactless/drop off)
-Provide social media recruitment.
-Provide outreach and recruitment
-Complete weekly reports and enter data.
-Document services provided in a complete, accurate and timely manner
-Report all unusual incidents that may involve participants to the HIV services coordinator
-Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
-Perform other duties as instructed by the treatment coordinator, chief operating officer, and/or executive director
Qualifications:
-High School Diploma required
-Knowledge of implementing HIV interventions is a plus
-Ability to provide services in a compassionate, ethical manner
-Valid Alabama driver’s license and good driving record required
-Ability to keep sensitive information obtained confidential
-exceptional interpersonal skills to relate with clients, participants, and resource providers
Travel Requirements:
-Travel required
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
Job Salary:
$36,000.00 – $45,000.00/annual
Hours:
Full-time, Exempt
Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
(Flexible hours and evenings/weekends)
(40 hours per week)
