Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide behavioral health services to adult men
and women who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid use
disorder, and who are enrolled in the Birmingham Drug Court. Area served is Jefferson County.

Office Location: Birmingham, AL
The peer support specialist will provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in the
Birmingham Adult Drug Treatment Court. The peer support specialist works closely with the
women and family services treatment coordinator to accomplish the mission and service goals
of Aletheia House.
-Provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in treatment for opioid or stimulant use
disorders by linking them to appropriate recovery services, including self-help groups.
-To administer GPRA intakes and follow-ups to enrolled individuals.
-Document all services and submit in a timely and accurate manner
-Perform other duties as assigned by the program manager
-High school diploma or GED required.
-At least two years of documented recovery
-Must be able to obtain certification as a peer support specialist. Will be required to obtain
certification within 120 days if not currently certified.
$32,000.00 – $34,000.00
Full-time, Exempt – 40 hours per week

certified as addiction professionals.
-Travel is required at least two times a week
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
