PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST-Birmingham, AL

Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide peer recovery support services to adult men who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opiod use disorder.  Area served is Jefferson County.

Location of Position:    Birmingham, AL

 

Position Summary:

The peer support specialist will provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in the Men’s Hope Program.    The peer support specialist works closely with the treatment coordinator to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

-Provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in treatment for opioid or stimulant use disorders by linking them to appropriate recovery services, including self-help groups.
-To administer GPRA intakes and follow-ups to enrolled individuals.

-Document all services and submit in a timely and accurate manner
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator, chief operating officer, or executive director.

 

Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED required
-At least two years of documented recovery
-Must be able to obtain certification as a peer support specialist.  Will be required to obtain certification within 120 days if not currently certified.

 

Job Salary:

$36,000.00 – $45,000.00 annually

 

Hours:

Full-time, Exempt – Monday-Friday 11: a.m. – 7:00 p.m. – 40 hours per week

Travel Requirements:

-Travel occasionally

-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation

-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
