PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST

Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide peer recovery support services to individuals who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid use disorder.

Location of Position:    2201 Arlington Avenue, Bessemer, AL  35020

 

Position Summary:

The peer support specialist will provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in an outpatient substance use disorder program at the Bessemer Health Center.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

-Provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in a substance use disorder program for opioid or stimulant use disorders by linking them to appropriate recovery services, including self-help groups.
-To administer GPRA intakes and follow-ups to enrolled individuals.

-Document all services and submit in a timely and accurate manner
-Perform other duties as assigned by the health services director.

 

Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED required
-At least two years of documented recovery
-Must obtain certification as a peer support specialist within 120 days if not currently certified

 

Job Salary:

$36,000.00 – $45,000.00 annually

 

Hours:

Full-time, Exempt – Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – 40 hours per week

Travel Requirements:

-Travel occasionally

-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation

-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
