Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide peer recovery support services to adult women who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid use disorder. Area served is Jefferson County.
Location of Position: Birmingham, AL
Position Summary:
The peer support specialist will provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in the Women’s Hope Program. The peer support specialist works closely with the treatment coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide recovery support to individuals enrolled in treatment for opioid or stimulant use disorders by linking them to appropriate recovery services, including self-help groups.
-To administer GPRA intakes and follow-ups to enrolled individuals.
-Document all services and submit in a timely and accurate manner
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED required
-At least two years of documented recovery
-Must be able to obtain certification as a peer support specialist. Will be required to obtain certification within 120 days if not currently certified.
Job Salary:
$36,000.00 – $45,000.00 annually
Hours:
Full-time, Exempt – Sat-Wedn 11:00 a.m. –7:00 p.m. – 40 hours per week

Travel Requirements:
-Travel occasionally
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
