Peer Support Specialist-Outreach Worker (#0445)

Position Summary:
The Peer Support specialist-outreach worker is responsible to provide recruitment and
engagement and retention services to clients of the rural Drug Court Program. The peer support
specialist/outreach worker works closely with the treatment coordinator to accomplish the
mission and service goals of Aletheia House. Areas serviced are Dallas and Montgomery
Counties.

Location of Positions: Montgomery and Selma/Camden, Alabama

Office Location: 0445-A Montgomery, Alabama
0445-B Selma, Alabama

Primary Responsibilities:
-To provide peer mentoring and/or coaching
-To assist program participants with solving problems directly relating to recovery
-To provide recovery resource connecting, facilitate and lead recovery groups as needed
-To build positive relationships with the participants of rural Drug Court
-To transport participants to appointments and to assist them in obtaining community services
-To maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation of peer support activities
-Coordinate and communicate outreach tracking activities with other staff members and
accurately documenting all activities
-Participate in required staff meetings and trainings.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator, director of behavioral health,
chief operating officer, and/or executive director.

Qualifications:
-High School diploma or equivalent required
-Member of population of focus
-Valid Alabama Driver’s License and good driving record required
-Motor Vehicle Report required

Travel:
-Daily travel in order to mentor participants enrolled in rural Drug Court in the counties serviced
-Attend meetings and trainings located in Birmingham, AL as required
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included

Job Salary:
$34,000.00

Hours:
F/T, Exempt – Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – 40 Hours
