Aletheia House is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in prevention services.
The areas served are Dallas, Wilcox, Perry, and Lowndes counties in Alabama.

Office Location of Position: Selma, AL

Position Summary:
The prevention specialist is responsible for providing prevention services and activities for
substance abuse and HIV prevention programs. The prevention specialist works closely with the
HIV prevention manager to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide quality prevention services, outreach, and recruitment to participants in substance
abuse and HIV prevention programs in accordance with the policies established by Aletheia
House
-HIV testing (contactless/drop off)
-Assist with outreach and recruitment to the targeted population in the Demopolis and Selma
areas as directed
-Provide virtual HIV education and POL classes
-Social media recruitment and education
-Facilitate groups and report outcomes and data to the prevention manager
-Document services provided in a complete, accurate and timely manner
-Report all unusual incidents that may involve participants to the prevention manager
-Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
-Perform other duties as instructed by the HIV prevention manager, director of behavioral
health, chief operating officer, and/or executive director.

Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree related to social services preferred
-Certification as a prevention specialist a plus
-Ability to provide services in a compassionate, ethical manner
-Valid Alabama driver’s license and good driving record required
-Motor Vehicle Report required
-Ability to keep sensitive information obtained confidential
Travel Requirements:
-Light daily travel required
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included

Job Salary:
$36,800 annual

Hours: Full-time, Exempt
Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (some evenings or weekends may be required according to program needs)
40 hours per week
