Aletheia House is looking for a social worker to provide behavioral health services that promote recovery to adult women who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid use disorder. Area served is Jefferson County, Alabama.
Position Summary:
The social worker is responsible for providing services that promote recovery for clients living in a residential treatment facility.
Location of Position: 2772 Hanover Circle, Birmingham, AL 35205
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide appropriate support and supervision of Women’s Hope residential clients that promote their recovery
Help organize activities that support recovery including arranging in-house support group meetings and attendance at outside support group meetings.
Help organize social and recreational activities that can be offered in-house and outside the program, including activities that can include family members and/or partners
Ensure groceries and supplies are available to clients and are ordered in compliance with agency guidelines
Assist clients to take their medications appropriately. Maintain MAC worker certification.
Assign chores and other tasks to clients and monitor their completion.
Transport clients to outside activities, shopping, etc.
Work with maintenance worker to ensure maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Enforce program rules in a fair and consistent manner.
Complete required documentation is an accurate and timely manner.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required. Maintain first aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work.
-Current or MAC certification eligible
-Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required
-Motor Vehicle Report required
Job Salary:
$36,00-$45,000
Hours:
Full-Time, Exempt, Monday – Friday 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm (40 hours)
