Position Summary:
The therapist is responsible for providing individual, group, and family wellness counseling for
program participants who are in Drug Court. The therapist works closely with the rural
substance abuse treatment coordinator-west to accomplish the mission and service goals of
Aletheia House. The area served is Dallas County and surrounding areas.

Location of Position: Selma, AL
Office Location of Position: 900 Church Street, Selma, AL 36701

Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide individual, group, and family wellness counseling to program participants who are in
Drug Court
-Conduct psycho-social assessments as needed; also conduct psycho-educational classes with
clients and their families according to the approved curriculum
-Document all services in a timely complete and clinically appropriate manner
-Serve as liaison between clients and other service providers, as applicable
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator-west, chief operating officer
and/or executive director

Qualifications:
-Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health, counseling,
psychology, or social work with a clinical practicum required
-At least two years experience providing substance abuse treatment and/or prevention services
preferred.
-Ability to be eligible to perform Medicaid approved activities and be certified as a QSAP I
-Licensure and/certification as required by the Alabama Department of Mental Health
(AADC/ADC, LPC, LICSW, LMFT, LMSW) preferred, or the ability to achieve
licensure/certification after 30 months
-Must have valid and current Driver’s License
-Motor Vehicle Report required

Job Salary:
$40,000 – $42,000
Hours: F/T, Exempt, Monday-Thursday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
