Aletheia House is looking for an individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse in the Jefferson County area. This position is located at the Bessemer Neighborhood Health Center, Bessemer, Alabama.

Location of Position:  Bessemer Health Center

Position Summary:
The therapist is responsible for providing substance abuse counseling to patients enrolled in Medication Assisted Treatment at the Bessemer Neighborhood Health Center.  The therapist works closely with the health services director.

Primary Responsibilities:

-Coordinate the behavioral health treatment for all patients engaged in Medication Assisted Treatment and assures that all Medication Assisted Treatment patients are actively engaged in counseling

-Provide individual and tele-counseling therapy to patients enrolled in Medication Assisted Treatment at Bessemer Neighborhood Health Center

-Complete clinical documentation of all services provided in a timely and accurate manner

-Assure that all services are documented in the Health Center’s Electronic Health Record.

-Provide appropriate resolution for patient issues and concerns.

-Provide timely, complete and accurate documentation as required by DMH, Medicaid, Aletheia House and other funding sources and regulatory agencies

-Serve as a liaison between patients and other service providers as applicable

-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the health services director

– Conduct assessments for potential clients of agency programs.

 

Qualifications:

-Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Behavioral Health, Counseling, or Social Work with a clinical practicum required
-At least two years’ experience providing substance abuse treatment and/or prevention services preferred

-Ability to be eligible to perform Medicaid approved activities and be certified at a QSAP I level
-Licensure and/certification as required by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (AADC/ADC, LPC, LICSW, LMFT, LMSW) preferred, or the ability to achieve licensure/certification within 30 months

Job Salary:

$43,000.00 – $53,750.00

 

Hours: 40 Hours

Full-Time, Exempt

 

Hours:  Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
