Therapist-Men’s Hope (#0387)

Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide behavioral health services to adult men who have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid use disorder.

Office Location:  201 Finley Avenue West, Birmingham, AL

Position Summary:
The therapist is responsible for providing individualized, comprehensive counseling, education, and other therapeutic interventions and treatment services for adult patients with substance use disorders.  The therapist works closely with the treatment services coordinator to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
-To provide individual, group and family counseling to adult men who have a substance use disorder at the Men’s Residential (Men’s Hope Program)

-Conduct psycho-social assessments as needed; also conduct psycho-educational classes with clients and their families according to the approved curriculum

-Crisis and family intervention and involvement

-To seek and provide resources

-To serve as a liaison between the client and other service providers as needed
-Linkage and referral; document all services in a timely complete and clinically appropriate manner
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the treatment coordinator

 

Qualifications:
-Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health with a clinical practicum required

-Ability to be eligible to perform Medicaid approved activities and be certified as a QSAP I
-Licensure and/certification as required by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (AADC/ADC, LPC, LICSW, LMFT, LMSW) preferred, or the ability to achieve licensure/certification after 30 months

-At least two years experience providing substance abuse treatment and/or prevention services preferred

-Must have valid and current Driver’s License

-Motor Vehicle Report required

 

Job Salary:

$43,000 – $53,750

 

Hours:

F/T, Exempt – 40 hours a week

Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (some evenings may be required according to clients’ needs)
