Aletheia House is looking for an individual to provide behavioral health services to women who
have been diagnosed with a substance use disorder, including an opioid use disorder in the
Birmingham, AL area. Areas and counties served are Jefferson County and surrounding
counties.

Location of Position: 4246 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35204
Office Location: Birmingham, AL

Position Summary:
The Mother’s Hope therapist will provide counseling for substance abuse disorders,
psycho-social assessments and group/class services to women. The Mother’s Hope therapist
works closely with the women and family services treatment coordinator.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide treatment for substance use disorders to adult women or pregnant adult women.
-Conduct psycho-social assessments as needed; also conduct psycho-educational
classes/groups with clients and their families according to the approved curriculum.
-Document all services in a timely complete and clinically appropriate manner.
-Attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the women and family services treatment coordinator,
chief operating officer and/or executive director.

Qualifications:
-Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in behavioral health with a clinical
practicum required.
-Ability to be eligible to perform Medicaid approved activities and be certified as a QSAP I
-Licensure and/certification as required by the Alabama Department of Mental Health
(AADC/ADC, LPC, LICSW, LMFT, LMSW) preferred, or the ability to achieve
licensure/certification after 30 months
-At least two years experience providing substance abuse treatment and/or prevention services
preferred
-Must have valid and current Driver’s License
-Motor Vehicle Report required.
Travel Requirements:
-Minimal travel required (trainings and meetings).
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation and/or be required to drive an
agency vehicle when needed.
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included.

Job Salary:
$40,000.00 – $42,000.00Hours:
F/T Exempt, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
40 hours a week.
