Veterans Outreach Worker/Tracker – F/T Montgomery, Alabama

Aletheia House is looking for individuals that want to make a difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse. Area serviced is Montgomery County.
Location of Position: 1153 Airbase Blvd, Montgomery, AL 36108
Summary:
The Veterans outreach worker/tracker will provide outreach in Montgomery County and is responsible for the recruitment of homeless, at-risk veterans who need employment and other supportive services. The Veterans outreach worker/tracker works closely with the Veterans service coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Actively recruit Veteran participants weekly who need housing and supportive services
-Provide outreach and engagement services
-Build relationships and conduct regular visits to homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the Montgomery area, etc., as well as conducting street outreach in the alleys, encampments, and abandoned houses where many homeless veterans live
-Identify, recruit, and enroll at least 4 participants weekly into the program. Enrollment will come from street outreach, referral from other homeless service providers, and referrals from Veterans Affairs
-Assist in the collection of follow-up data by locating individuals who have received services
-Coordinate and communicate outreach tracking activities with other staff members and accurately documenting all activities
-Attend all professional development, staff meetings, and in-service trainings as required
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Veterans service coordinator.
Qualifications:
-High School Diploma (former homeless Veteran preferred)
-Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
-Motor Vehicle Report required.
Travel:
-Travel required daily, weekly, or monthly
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
Job Salary:
$29,000-$34,000
Hours:
F/T, Exempt–Monday – Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm — 40 Hours per Week
