Clinical Director-Birmingham, Alabama (#0137)

Aletheia House is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse. The area/counties served are Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

2100 16th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35205

Position Summary:

The clinical director will is responsible for helping to ensure clinical services are high quality and clinical staff members are well trained and supervised. The clinical director works closely with the director of behavioral health and chief operating officer in order to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

-Assign diagnoses and review and approve treatment plans for individuals entering the program

-Review treatment plans at least bi-monthly for individuals in assigned programs

-Provide individual and group supervision for therapists, consistent with the supervision guidelines for individuals seeking certification as a Licensed Professional Counselor

-Conduct clinical observation of group, individual and family sessions (in person, video and/or by reviewing taped sessions) and provide feedback to therapists

-Conduct an in-depth clinical review of 10% of each therapist’s charts quarterly

-Serve as a trainer for some of the clinical in-service training sessions

-Provide documentation of supervision and training to participating staff they can use to apply for their certification as an LPC, QSAP, etc.

-Perform other duties as assigned by the director of behavioral health, chief operating officer and/or executive director

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: -Extensive knowledge of counseling and evidence-based interventions

-Ability to represent the agency in a positive, professional manner

-Self-motivated, positive and personable with an ability to communicate effectively and proficiently

-Ability to take initiative, multi-task, work well under pressure and complete all required assignments in a timely manner

-Excellent organizational, verbal, & written skills

-Experience in substance abuse

 

Qualifications:

-Master’s degree with clinical practicum required

-Licensure as professional counselor, clinical social worker, psychologist, or marriage and family therapist required

-Certification as addiction counselor preferred

-Experience in substance use disorder treatment preferred

-Must be able to travel and have an acceptable driving record

-Motor Vehicle Report required

 

Travel Requirements:

-Travel weekly

-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation

-Requires the ability to drive on a consistent monthly basis

– Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included

Job Salary:

$58,000-$61,000.00 Based on experience

Hours:

F/T Exempt – Monday-Friday (40 Hours) 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
