Aletheia House is looking for individuals to provide substance abuse prevention to program participants enrolled in substance abuse treatment. Areas serviced are Bullock, Macon, and Pike Counties.

Position Summary:
The prevention specialist provides substance abuse prevention services, community activities, environmental and educational strategies, and wellness classes to children, adolescents, and citizens of communities of focus.
The prevention specialist will also address availability and accessibility of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs in the targeted community. The prevention specialist works closely with the community wellness coordinator and director of behavioral health to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Implement substance abuse prevention interventions in Bullock, Macon, and Pike counties
-Recruit youth for the Teens Who Care Program
-Co-facilitate virtual town halls, focus groups, podcast episodes, and other events
-Post content on Aletheia House Community Wellness social media sites
-Create activities that focus on music, art, fun outdoor games that promote physical health and activity
-Teach Teens Who Care youth how to make healthy nutritional choices by teaching them how to prepare healthy snacks
-To conduct activities according to the direction of the community wellness coordinator and/or director of behavioral health
-Facilitate and assist with planning summer activities including Kids Who Care Camp
-Document all services in a complete, accurate and timely manner, and report all unusual incidents that may involve participants to the community wellness coordinator
-To attend staff meetings and in-service trainings as directed
-Perform other duties as assigned by the community wellness coordinator, director of behavioral health, chief operating officer and/or executive director
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in social service, education, psychology, public health, or related field required
-Prevention licensure or certification preferred
-Prior experience in substance abuse treatment/prevention a plus
-Driver’s License required
-Motor Vehicle Report required
Travel:
-Some travel is required throughout counties several times per week
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
Job Salary:
$16.00-$18.00/Hourly
Hours:
P/T, Non-Exempt,
Monday – Friday, after school hours and some weekends
Total – 29 hours total per week
