Residential Support Specialist-Overnight Mother’s Hope – Birmingham (#0413)

Aletheia House has several openings in our residential facilities. We are looking for individuals that want to make a difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse.  Area/County Served:  Jefferson County.

Location of Position:

Mother’s Hope, 4246 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL

 

Position Summary:

The residential support specialist provides residential support, overnight supervision, and medical assistance to clients in residential and supportive housing programs.  The residential support specialist is responsible for appropriate supervision and day-to-day functions of our residential supportive services. The residential support specialist works closely with the residential manager and director of behavioral health to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

-Oversee the Mother’s Hope residents

-Provide appropriate supervision of residential clients in residential setting and supportive housing programs, including supervision of work assignments and recreational activities

-Responsible for facilitating basic living responsibilities

-Responsible for conducting room inspections for compliance checks

-Enforce program rules in a fair and constant manner.

-Properly document activities on clients and maintain other records as directed.

-Document and assist clients with medications to ensure proper usage

-Perform other duties as assigned by the residential manager or director of behavioral health

 

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or equivalent required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred or individuals seeking to pursue a degree in any behavioral health field preferred

-If applying as a peer, at least two years in recovery

-Experience and any human services certification may substitute for degree

-MAC certification eligibility

-Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record required

-Motor Vehicle Report required

 

Job Salary:

$12.00 Hourly

 

Hours: 

Full-Time – non-exempt – 40 hours

 

Specific Work Schedule:

Monday – Thursday 9:30 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
