Residential Support Specialist, P/T Bham Avondale (#0342 A-D)

Aletheia House has several openings in our residential facilities. We are looking for individuals that want to make a difference in the lives of individuals recovering from substance abuse.  Area/County Served:  Jefferson County.

Location of Position:  Women’s Residential-Mother’s Hope, Birmingham, AL

 

Office Location of Position:  4246 5th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL

Position Summary:
The residential support specialist provides residential support, supervision, and medical assistance to clients in residential and supportive housing programs.  The residential support specialist is responsible for appropriate supervision and day-to-day functions of our residential supportive services. The residential support specialist works closely with the Treatment Coordinator, Program Manager, and Director of Behavioral Health to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide appropriate supervision of residential clients and their children in residential setting, including supervision of work assignments, meal preparation, and recreational activities.

-Responsible for facilitating basic living responsibilities

-Responsible for conducting room inspections for compliance checks
-Enforce program rules in a fair and constant manner.
-Properly document activities on clients and maintain other records as directed.
-Document and assist clients with medications to ensure proper usage.
-Transport program participants to NA/AA meetings, appointments, store runs, and other approved recreational activities.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Treatment Coordinator, Program Manager, Director of Behavioral Health, Clinical Director, Chief Operating Officer, and/or Executive Director.

 

Qualifications:

-High School Diploma or equivalent required.  If applying as a peer, at least two years in recovery
-Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience preferred

-MAC certification eligibility required

-Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record required

-Motor Vehicle Report required

 

Travel:

-Travel may be required daily.

-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation.

-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included.

-When needed, will drive the agency’s van

 

Job Salary:

$12.00 Hourly

 

Hours:  Part-Time – non-exempt (no more than 29 hours per week).

Specific Work Schedule:

  1. Friday and Saturday, 1st, 3rd, and 5th, 10:30 pm – 7:30 am
  2. Monday-Friday, 7:00 am –1:00 pm
  3. Saturday and Sunday, 1st, 3rd, and 5th, 4:00 pm –11:00 pm
  4. Saturday and Sunday, 1st, 3rd, and 5th, 3:00 pm –10:00 pm
