Aletheia House is looking for a part-time veteran’s transporter to work at the Jobs for Vets
Employment Building in Birmingham, Alabama. Areas serviced are Jefferson and Shelby
Counties.
Office Location: 2631 Ensley Avenue West, Birmingham, AL 35218
Position Summary:
The veteran’s transporter is responsible for providing safe transportation to class interviews, job
fairs, scheduled case management appointments, agency events, and treatment for Aletheia
House veterans/clients. The veteran’s transporter works closely with the veteran’s services
program manager, chief operating officer, and/or executive director to accomplish the mission
and service goals of Aletheia House.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide safe transportation to appointments and treatment for Aletheia House veterans/clients
-Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of agency vehicles
-Maintain transportation documentation as required by Aletheia House and other funding
sources
-Submit reports to veterans services manager or clinical director in a timely manner
-Perform other duties as assigned by the veterans services manager, chief operating officer,
and/or executive director
Qualifications:
-High school diploma or GED preferred
-Valid Alabama Drivers’ License and good driving record required
-Motor Vehicle Report required
-Previous driving experience driving a 15-passenger van preferred
-Must be able to be insured
-Veterans preferred
Travel:
-This position requires travel (often) using agency van – 5 hours per day in order to transport
veterans/clients in Jefferson and Shelby Counties and to attend meetings and trainings located
in Birmingham, AL
Job Salary:
$12.00 – 13.50 per hour
Hours: P/T, Non-Exempt-Monday – Thursday, 11:30 am – 5:30 pm – (some Fridays) 20-25 hours
